Why did my aircon switch on/off by itself?

It irritates when your aircon switches on/off by itself. However, this is a common problem that many customers faced in this hot weather. Let us take a look at the possible reasons of the causes:

1) Faulty P.C.B (Electric Circuit Board)

The P.C.B provides communication in between the indoor fan coil unit and the outdoor unit. The technology used by the P.C.B would enable the indoor unit to adjust to the cooling accordingly. As the components of the P.C.B may experience wear and tear, the fan coil thus will not work efficiently.

2) Low in refrigerant levels

The refrigerant level (gas) supplies the cold air for your indoor aircon. However, if the gas level becomes very low or not to the required pressure, the compressor will not be able to cool down the room.

3) Wrong setting

Sometimes, you may accidentally turn on the timer function without knowing it. As the indication is small on the remote control, it is normal that customer did not take note of it. However, a faulty remote control may also resulted in the timer function being switch on. Try replacing the batteries and see if it works.

4) Overheat Compressor

A dirty compressor can lead to power trip in homes and result aircon switching off by itself. This is the most important part of the aircon system. Sometimes, a worn out compressor may also result in this due to the old age of the aircon system. Our technicians will be able to identify for you if your compressor has broke down.
